The Quesnel Fire Department attended a commercial structure fire earlier this (Tuesday) morning.
Fire Chief Ron Ritchert said they responded to a call for service at the West Fraser Centre at 11:15.
“Upon arrival we had heavy smoke and some fire. It was contained to the concession area and crews quickly extinguished the fire and there was minimal structural damage but we did have a lot of water in the building.”
Ritchert said they responded with two engines and a Ladder Truck and were on scene for approximately 45-minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
