The decision will be the major part of the Quesnel Board of Education’s regular meeting on that night starting at 7 o’clock.
Board Chair Tony Goulet says the public is welcome to attend and they changed the venue because they are anticipating a larger than normal audience.
Goulet says he can’t stress enough how difficult a decision this is and he says it has been an extremely busy and emotional time for Trustees.
He says once a decision is made, and if a school closure is announced, it will then kick off another process.
Goulet says they will then go to their policies and procedures bylaws which calls for a 60-day public consultation process.
He says that will include more community meetings.
A final decision on any potential school closures for 2016-2017 would then be made at their March 30th School Board meeting.
