Air Quality Advisory issued for Quesnel

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, in collaboration with Northern Health, issued an Air Quality Advisory this (Feb 20) morning due to high concentrations of fine particulate matter in the air.
The provincial air qualify objective is 25 micrograms per cubic metre averaged over 24 hours.
The reading in Quesnel at 9 o’clock was 35.4
The reading in Williams Lake was just 6.
Exposure to high concentrations of fine particulate matter is particularly a concern to individuals with chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, heart disease, and diabetes.
Pregnant women, infants and the elderly are also vulnerable.

Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions or acute infections should postpone or reduce strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.
