Air Quality Advisory issued for Quesnel

An Air Quality Advisory for Quesnel has been put in place by Environment Canada, due to “high concentrations of fine particulate matter that are expected to persist until weather conditions change.”

They said the advisory is a concern for anyone with chronic conditions, respiratory infections, along with pregnant women, infants, and older adults.

It’s recommended anyone with chronic underlying medical conditions or acute infections should postpone or reduce strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted, or to stay indoors to reduce exposure.

If symptoms such as continuing eye or throat irritation, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, cough or wheezing are being experienced, you’re asked to follow the advice of a health care provider.

More information about the advisory can be found here.
