The Quesnel Kangaroos will open up against the Smithers Steelheads in a best of three East Division semi-final.
The Roos, coming off a 7-5 win over Nechako on Sunday to punch their ticket into the post season, will host Smithers in game one of a best of three this coming Saturday (Feb 10) night at 7-30 at the West Fraser Centre.
Games two and three, if necessary, will then be played in Smithers the following weekend.
Both teams had 13 points on the season, but the Steelheads got the tie breaker and home ice advantage because they had more wins.
Quesnel (5-10-3) actually won the only actual game that these two teams played during the regular season, a 6-1 decision at the West Fraser Centre back on December 9th.
Smithers (6-11-1) earned a forfeit in October when Quesnel was unable to make the trip north.
The Williams Lake Stampeders, the division champions at 14-3 and 1, will get a first round bye.
In the West Division, Terrace gets the first round bye and Hazelton takes on Prince Rupert in a semi-final.
