The Alexis Creek First Nation has a new Chief following their election Friday.
Ervin Charleyboy received the most votes as Chief.
Former Chief Percy Guichon will serve on one of six Councillor positions along with Otis Guichon Senior, Rocky Guichon, John Charleyboy, Terry Char, and Maryanne Boyd.
Ervin who ran for Chief against Guichon in 2012 remains a strong supporter of Taseko’s New Prosperity project, a proposed open pit gold-copper mine approximately 125 kilometers southwest of Williams Lake.
