Nominations for the 2015 Certificate of Merit Awards haven’t been coming in fast and furious.
Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb is sure that it’s only a matter of time until they do, so in the meantime the entry deadline has been extended.
“We’ll probably  call off nominations as of the end of January if we haven’t received any, I’m assuming and I’m pretty sure will have some by then but  if there isn’t anything then we won’t leave it open forever kind of thing”
The Certificate of Merit Awards have been handed out by council members since 1978 to Williams Lake and area residents who bring national or international recognition to the city.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the City of Williams Lake website.
