On Sunday, January 28, BC Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Highway 97 near Exeter Station Road for several observed defects.
100 Mile House RCMP Sargent Brian Lamb said upon speaking with the driver and a passenger, a firearm was observed in the side door compartment area.
“Both were arrested for weapons offences,” Lamb said, “and a subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted where approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, a large quantity of opioids in pill form, two rifles, a BB gun, and ammunition was located.”
Lamb said several cartons of believed illegal cigarettes and a bag containing ski masks, rope, gloves and blunt instruments were located.
The driver who identified as a 36-year-old male from Ontario was also found in breach of possessing weapons contrary to a court order.
Lamb said both the male and female, a 42-year-old from the 100 Mile House area, were subsequently released and will attend court at a later date.
