The 2 Rivers Boxing Club in Quesnel has a new home

The clock is no longer ticking for the 2 Rivers Boxing Club to find a new home in Quesnel.
Coach Wally Doern says he relieved to say that they will be moving into a new location at the end of the month.
“Our new home is going to be at 222 Front Street.  It’s Bill’s old pawn shop there, the 24 after 4 building.  I like it, we have two floors there.  We’re going to have enough room for what we’re doing, and it’s going to be exclusive for the club.”
Doern says they did look at some other locations.
“It was a process of elimination.  We had looked at three other locations that didn’t suit our needs.  One was too small, the other one wasn’t approved, and then the other building we would have had to share it with other activities.”
Doern says they were lucky to get this location and he says he is relieved.
He says the move will start this weekend.
“We’re planning the big move this Saturday on the 27th, and hopefully everything will go smooth and I plan on Wednesday of the 31st. in the new building.”
The 2 Rivers Boxing Club had been at the West Park Mall location since 2013.
The mall is using the spot for something else and the boxing club had to be out by January 31st.
