Michael Martel of 100 Mile House has been charged with First Degree Murder.
RCMP have confirmed that the Crown has recommended the charge.
The 46-year old is accused of killing 37-year old Vesna Dumstrey-Soos.
Her body was discovered in her home on Norman Road on Monday morning after she failed to show for work.
No other details have been released.
Martel was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
RCMP say that he and the victim did know each other.
School District 27 staff and administration had initiated lock-down procedures at Horse Lake Elementary shortly after 1 pm as police searched for Martel.
The 100 Mile House and District Women’s Centre will be holding a memorial for Vesna at 4:00 pm at the At Ease Wellness Studio on Saturday, January 16.
