Accused in drive-by shooting in Williams Lake has been sentenced

31-year old Trevor Lyndon Alexis pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm with intent to wound or disfigure and to possession of a firearm contrary to an order, and was sentenced to two years and 116 days in jail.
The actual sentence was for three years but he was given credit for time already served.
Williams Lake RCMP responded to an incident involving a firearm back on July 28th of 2022.
Corporal Phill Charron says a person in a new Dodge Ram shot at a Dodge Challenger in downtown Williams Lake before both vehicles then sped away.
Charron says they were able to identify a suspect with the assistance of the public.
“Police obtained a search warrant for a residence and the vehicle that Alexis was associated to.  Officers executed a search warrant and located two firearms and ammunition consistent with the damage on the Dodge Challenger.”
Charon says additional search warrants were later executed confirming that Alexis was the shooter and that he was involved with the 712 gang in the Cariboo region.
This incident occurred less than a month after the 2022 Williams Lake Stampede shooting, were two victims were shot.
Jordell Sellars was sentenced to 9 years in jail in that case, and RCMP say he was a former member of the Indian Outlawz, a gang rivalling the 712 gang.
