They’ll be rocking the house this weekend at the 100 Mile House Curling Club.
Rinks from across the Cariboo as well as Mission and Kamloops will be competing in the 60th Annual Men’s Bonspiel.
President of the Curling Club, Eugene Gerwing said they have a full compliment of teams when play begins this Friday (January 12).
“We had no trouble filling the 18 team slots that we had and we have a couple of teams that are waiting in case somebody drops out. It’s back and it’s getting more popular every year.”
Gerwing noted that the ice is in great shape and should make for a great weekend of competition.
“My mandate was to produce some competitive ice. I think it was critical in getting people back into the game and getting back into 100 Mile House. We’ve done that, our ice is very good and now we’re getting a lot of interest from all around the surrounding area.”
Gerwing said the public is welcome to come out to the 100 Mile Curling Club to watch these teams compete during their 60th Annual Men’s Bonspiel getting underway Friday at 5, continuing all day Saturday and wrapping up Sunday afternoon.
