Pre-trial conference set for the accused in an armed robbery in Quesnel

   A Pre-trial conference has been set for two people charged in connection with an armed robbery in Quesnel.
   Jade Bennett and Robert Hovestad, both 25, are due back in Supreme Court in Vancouver on February 5th.
   Both are facing several firearms charges, including possession of an unregistered firearm, occupying a vehicle knowing that a firearm was present, and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
   Quesnel RCMP say they were called to the west end of the foot bridge near North Fraser Drive back in the early morning hours of September 13th for a report of an armed robbery.
   Police say the victim told them that he was attacked by three men armed with guns and batons, and that they assaulted him and took his wallet and backpack.
   A suspect vehicle was located with three people in it.
   One of the suspect in this case was released pending further investigation.
   RCMP say the suspects were in possession of a sawed-off shotgun and a prohibited handgun, as well as two ounces of fentanyl and $6,300 in cash.
