Quesnel RCMP are investigating a fatal accident

Quesnel RCMP were called to a single vehicle accident on Thursday (Jan 4) at around 8 o’clock on Highway 97 near Lavally Road, near Marguerite, south of Quesnel.
“An SUV had been travelling north on the highway when it crossed the centre line and ended up in the southbound ditch, causing it to roll over.   A 43-year old man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was found deceased.”
Kronebusch says the man’s name is not being released but he did confirm that he was not from the area.
He says traffic was temporarily disrupted while police dealt with the collision.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, although Kronebusch says they do not believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
