Highway 97 closed north of Prince George due to two-vehicle collision

Prince George RCMP are on scene of a two-vehicle collision near Barney Creek Road and Highway 97 north.

Police were advised of the incident at around 12:45 p.m..

“Those drivers needing to head north through the Salmon Valley area are advised to delay their departure as the highway is currently closed in both directions and will remain that way for some time,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“The crash involved a five-ton truck and a pickup truck, with the total number of occupants currently unknown.”

Mounties say at least one person has been air-lifted to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
