It was a tale of two Cariboo communities when it came to how residents fared weather wise throughout the month of November.
Armel Castellan, Meteorologist with Environment Canada said looking at the temperatures, Williams Lake was warmer and even set a record.
“It was 3.3 degrees above seasonal temperatures so hitting point 8 degrees much higher than the minus 2.3 that you typically see. Good for the fifth warmest November on record.”
Castellan said Quesnel also had a warmer than normal November but didn’t set any records.
“It was 2.7 degrees warmer, the normal is minus 1.4. This is only the twenty-fifth warmest November on record for Quesnel.”
Castallen noted it was also very dry when it came to the amount of precipitation that fell in November starting with Williams Lake.
“17.6 millimetres fell when the average is 42.2 so that makes it the seventh driest November on record, in Quesnel a similar pattern, drier as well just 44.2 millimetres fell and the normal would be 51.3.”
Castellan said looking ahead tomorrow (December 5) temperatures in the Cariboo could be 7 to 10 degrees warmer than seasonal followed by a few days of sunshine and more average temperatures for December.
