Williams Lake is about to get it’s first taste of Christmas.
On Wednesday, December 6th, the 26th Annual Yuletide Dinner, will be put on by the Child Development Centre and the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Executive Director of the CDC, Vanessa Riplinger said the community really comes together for this festive event to see that people who might not have a Christmas dinner enjoys one.
“If you’re lean on company or you might not have the funds for a Christmas dinner we invite you to come down. We served 300 meals last year, we’re thinking that this year is going busier probably than other years and we don’t want people to celebrate the holiday alone so we’re hoping they show up and do this with us.”
Riplinger said the Yuletide dinner is a full-blown meal with Turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, buns and dessert, even Santa Claus is excited to be coming to town that day to hand out homemade stockings made by local residents.
“We’ll have entertainment as well, local people within our community stop in and play instruments, the men’s choir is also there to make the evening even more memorable. And the way that we fund this at the Child Development Centre is from community donations so we’re really excited to be able to hold this dinner once again,” Riplinger said.
The 26th Annual Yuletide Dinner will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic School Gymnasium again, on Wednesday December 6th from 4 until 7 at the Sacred Heart Catholic School Gymnasium.
