Cariboo-Prince George MP Reacts To Solider Killed at National War Memorial

The soldier who was fatally shot yesterday morning was in ceremonial gear, armed only with an unloaded antique rifle.

Cariboo-Prince George MP Dick Harris says it has never been a practice that soldiers at the war memorial would be armed…

Cpl. Nathan Frank Cirillo was taking a turn as part of this fall’s Ceremonial Guard watching over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier when he was gunned down shortly after 9:30 am yesterday morning.

Cirillo, from Hamilton, Ontario, was 24 years old and leaves behind a young son.

Harris was not on Parliament Hill yesterday as he was homesick.
