Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital Board will see better communication for projects

The Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital Board will continue its close communication with Interior Health for current and upcoming projects.

The new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) helps determine the rolls of both parties, such as how much capital cost the Hospital Board provides, in this case 60 percent with respect to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital project.

Hospital Board Director, Al Richmond says the MoU allows both parties to work ahead.

“We all get together usually, hopefully be back to face to face meetings to talk about upcoming projects, it also defines that IH will provide will bring a 5-year capital plan to the Regional Hospital District annually, and a 2-3 year plan with a 4-5 year forecast as they can.” says Richmond.

“They’re also going to try to provide a 5 to 20 year listing of potential future investment projects.”

Richmond added that this is dependent on if the Province accepts Interior Health’s proposals.

The new MoU comes because of the previous one lapsing, and will be reviewed every two years by IH and the seven RHDs involved.
