It’s the last one of the year and it’s happening later this afternoon (November 23) in the South Cariboo.
100 Mile House residents are invited to bring their questions and have them discussed during Coffee with Council.
Unlike previous sessions, there is no particular topic today, it’s wide open, and Mayor Maureen Pinkney said there’s always something on people’s minds that Council may not know about and the more conversations the better.
“We know we have some things coming up that we’re going to have to discuss with the community but we’re not quite at that stage yet in our information. We still wanted to put ourselves out there to answer any questions. There’s always something on people’s minds that we may not know about and the more conversations the better. I believe staff has put together a video that we can run some presentations, we’ll a bunch of our documents and books of our latest updated housing study and some things like that.”
Pinkney said there’s always knowledge that they try to pass on to everybody and then field the questions.
“There’s always confusion around the District of 100 Mile House and the Cariboo Regional District so we answer a lot of questions on who’s role is who’s at these kind of sessions as well. There’s no question that’s not a good question so we just encourage people to come out.”
Pinkney noted Coffee with Council is a little more relaxed setting than a public hearing or a council meeting where you just have to sit and listen, here you can engage back and forth.
Coffee with Council will take place from 2 until 4 today at Council Chambers in 100 Mile House.
