Two Attempted Thefts of A Vehicle in One Day

It was the second attempted theft of a vehicle yesterday in Williams Lake.

RCMP S/Sgt. Del Byron says police received a report of the attempted theft of a 2001 Ford F150 in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North at 6:50 pm.

It appears the passenger door handled was pried from the locked vehicle and the ignition was damaged.

Byron says another attempted theft occurred at 1:33 am in the 700 Block of McDougal Street.

A  2003 Chevy Silverado also sustained damage to its ignition and as well as the steering column.

Byron says the owner may have left the vehicle unlocked.

A 1995 red Dodge pickup meanwhile was reported stolen just one day prior to the attempted thefts on Dec. 28 from the 1400 block of Western Avenue between 6 and 11 pm.

Bryon says the vehicle has a yellow light bar, black stripe on its sides, a lift kit, and license plate number ET4082.
