Wrangler Coach Sees A Lot Of Talent In His Young Team Despite Their Record

The 100 Mile House Wranglers skated away with a loss and a win at home over the weekend.

Despite the Friday (November 17)  5-2 loss to Columbia Valley Head Coach Dale Hludan said the team shifted gears in the second half of that game and played extremely well.

“They a pretty good team. They’re first in their division and up in the top, maybe in that conference. They had a three nothing lead early in the game and we didn’t do a good job, we took penalties and should have killed them but the rest of the game we played much better.”

Saturday night (November 18), the Wranglers faced the Chase Heat and it was a totally different story from start to finish.

“The boys truly took it to heart that that’s a playoff game against Chase, that’s the team we’re trying to get ahead of.” Hladun said, “The boys did it, four nothing. Tolsma gets a shutout, Davey gets a hat trick, Duaner gets a smile on his face.”

Hladun said he knows the Wranglers record doesn’t look good but the team does.

“There’s talent in that group. Right now in our last ten games we’re 4-5 and 1, one point below 500 and we’re turning the corner, so I am confident going into the games this weekend.”

The Wranglers next two games are on the road, Friday against Beaver Valley and Saturday in Castlegar.
