Fire fighters in Quesnel respond to structure fire

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.

Fire Chief Ron Richert says they were called to the 600 block of Rolph Street in West Quesnel at around 2-30.

“Upon arrival, basically the homeowner had most of the fire extinguished and the Quesnel Fire Department crews had to breach some of the exterior wall to reach the existing fire, the extension of the fire.”

Richert says there were no injuries but there was extensive damage done to the outside wall of the home.

He says they responded with two trucks and 8 members and were on scene for around an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
