Now in it’s twenty-fifth year, Coats for All is once again giving those in need in the South Cariboo the gift of warmth this winter.
Until the end of November, Spokesperson Gayle Dunsmuir said donations of any adult and children’s winter coats or warm winter items that are not being used anymore can be dropped off at 100 Mile Laundry.
“If you’ve washed them then please mark the bag saying that they’re clean so Andrew doesn’t have to wash more than necessary. Then we have people who pick them up and they bring them to St Timothy’s and we have other teams that then sort them so that someone else can come and pick them up and take them to places like the Food Bank and Family Enrichment Centre, then people are welcome to come in and take what they need for themselves or their family.”
Dunsmuir said over the years Andrew has washed a lot of coats for this campaign, a huge gift that he gives to get those things all cleaned up.
Volunteers from St Timothy’s Anglican Church and 100 Mile United Church Outreach group help coordinate Coats for All which last year gave out 1,361 items.
