The water treatment plant for Williams Lake will look to begin construction soon.
During this weeks council meeting, the treatment plant design tender was awarded to Associated Engineering Ltd.
Chief Administrative Officer, Gary Muraca says this makes the construction work that much closer.
“That allows our consultant, that was successful in the tender process, to start proceeding with the design and planning for the future water treatment plant.” says Muraca.
“It will allow Sugarcane Archeology to get in there, and start doing their work, as well the consultant to do the design, and start precuring the contractors to do the work.”
Muraca says that some of the work for the water treatment plant has already begun.
This includes some of the civil work with the survey so the design work can get started, with Sugarcane Archeology’s pre-planning underway.
He notes that the City should start to see some actual construction in the spring of next year.
The water treatment plant is expected to be completed within three years.
