Quesnel City Council will provide the School District with a letter of support for some new child care spaces in the community.
The School District is applying for funding to the ChildCare BC New Spaces Fund.
The City of Quesnel and North Cariboo Region Child Care Action Plan in March of 2020 said in order for the area to meet the BC average child care ratio of 18.4 spaces per 100 children, 86 spaces would need to be added.
This funding proposal would provide 61 new spaces.
The proposed site is located alongside the new school being built in the Carson flats area.
