A 68-year-old woman from Vancouver is dead following a two-vehicle collisionĀ at the 99 Mile Hill Wednesday afternoon.
North District RCMP Cpl. Dave Tyreman says it appears a southbound minivan made a U-turn in the middle of the road and was struck on the passenger side by a northbound SUV.
The woman who was a passenger in the minivan was declared deceased on scene while the drivers of each vehicle were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for approximately 5 hours.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the incident.
Police askĀ anyone who may have witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to them to contact the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456.
