One Williams Lake resident is proving this holiday season that is much better to give than receive.
He’s made a generous offer to Ben Lippers, Pastor-Executive Director of the Salvation Army in Williams Lake, to help raise even more money for their Christmas Kettle campaign.
“I had a donor approach me and said that he heard about the Walmart match on a kettle and so he’s come up with a challenge to us. He says he would match the highest kettle we had up to twenty-two hundred dollars.
Lippers says they don’t have a kettle that’s reached twenty-two hundred dollars yet. They have some in the teens and he hopes that the community can help the Salvation Army hit that target by thursday afternoon at four.
Some of the locations the Salvation Army kettles can be found in Williams Lake include Canadian tire, Real Canadian Wholesale, Save Foods, Safeway and the BC Liquor Store.
