Fort St John Best Community to Live and Work according to BC Business Magazine

BC Business Magazine has released their rankings of the best 36 communities with ten thousand or more in population in the Province to live and work, and Fort St John was number one.

Quesnel was ranked 34th while Williams Lake came in 32nd.

Editor and Chief of BC Business Magazine Matt O’Grady cites a couple of reason why the two communities finished were they did.

“Both Williams Lake and Quesnel have been struck with low or in both cases with negative population growth over the last five years so that contributes in a negative sense to how the rankings play out for the two communities and on a provincial level the average household income is lower.”

O’Grady says the average household income in Fort St. John is about $126,000-$127,000 versus Williams Lake or Quesnel which is about $84,000-$85,000.

Prince George also was on the list and ranked at 19, with Kamloops in at 13.
