Cullen voices displeasure over Trans Pacific Agreement

NDP MP Nathan Cullen expressed his recent view about the Federal Liberals agreeing to the TTP.

The Trans Pacific Partnership is a free trade agreement among 12 different countries

Cullen says it could cost up to 60,000 Canadian jobs, and he wants to see an economic impact study.

“You have very strong business voices like Jim Balsillie from Blackberry saying this is terrible for an industry like high-tech plus you have diary producers suggesting this is going to be detrimental and yet the government is talking about compensating them for billions of dollars.”

Cullen adds Ottawa has not been upfront with the deal.

“I don’t buy some much as a sandwich without knowing what is on it so why would we sign on to such a deal that is going to take us forever to get out of without the kind of consultation that we need.”

Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and the US were among some of the others on board.
