Update: Two people killed in plane crash east of Wells

Update (August 5th, 11:45am):

The RCMP have given an update in regards to the plane crash that occurred on August 3rd at Bowron Lake.

In a release, they said that the incident has now claimed two lives, with both confirmed to have been in the plane when it crashed 28 kilometres east of Wells.

Police, along with Transportation Safety Board and BC Coroners Service are continuing to investigate the incident.

They say no names are being released at this time.

Original (August 4th, 10:24am):

On August 3rd, just before 9pm, Quesnel RCMP were called out to Bowron Lake, in regards to a plane crash.

In a release, police, along with emergency service personnel attended the crash site, 28 kilometres east of Wells, where they located one person who had died in the plane.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, as RCMP, the Transportation Safety Board and BC Coroners Service determine the cause.

RCMP are unable to provide further information at this time.

A single vehicle merging onto Highway 97 Northbound in Quesnel, hit a traffic pole. Police and the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department closed the ramp down as the accident was assessed. Only the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuires.

CRD Awards Multiple Community Organizations Funding for Events and Projects
