Charges Now Laid In Botched Robbery Attempt In Quesnel

A Quesnel man, accused of attempting to rob a local business, has now appeared in court.

32-year old Rory Ken Lornsten is charged with Robbery, Break and Enter with the Intent to Commit an Offence and Uttering Threats.

The charges are in connection with an alleged incident back on November 28th.

Quesnel RCMP say they received a call just before 8 am from the owner of a business on Jade Road.

He told police that he was assaulted while interrupting a break-in at his store but had managed to escape to another room to make the call.

Police say they immediately responded and managed to apprehend a suspect who was trying to flee the scene in a vehicle.

RCMP say the business owner suffered only minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
