Advance poll open today for pool referendum in Quesnel

Today (Monday) is the final day for North Cariboo residents to vote early for the pool referendum in Quesnel.

Residents within Sub Regional Recreation can vote at City Hall until 8 o’clock tonight.

600 people took advantage of the first advance poll last Wednesday.

After today the last chance to vote will be on general voting day on Saturday (June 10).

The City of Quesnel and the Cariboo Regional District are proposing major upgrades to the swimming pool at the Rec Centre, and the CRD is seeking authorization to borrow up to 35 million dollars to finance the project.

The cost to residents would be 75 dollars per $100,000 worth of assessment.

The project includes the replacement of the existing leisure pool, hot tub, and saunas, as well as a new larger leisure pool featuring a lazy river, a water slide, and improvements to the change rooms.
