Jury is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Quesnel

A BC Coroners Inquest into the death of a woman in Quesnel got underway this week.

The inquest into the death of 40-year old Nadine Marcy Solonas began on Tuesday at the Quesnel Law Courts and is expected to run into next week.

Solonas was the victim of an assault that occurred at a hotel in the 800 block of Front Street back on October 1st, 2017.

Court documents show that she declined medical attention but a police check revealed that she had breached a court imposed condition and she was taken into custody.

She was then released on a promise to appear in court to paramedics who then took her t the hospital where the extent of her injuries were revealed.

Solonos was flown to Vancouver where she died the following day.

The BC Coroners Service said she died from head injuries from blunt force trauma.

A coroners inquest is designed not to make any finding of legal responsibility but to make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
