Cariboo Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project Still in 2nd Phase of Planning

Major renovations and upgrade plans to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital continue to move forward at a rate many are unhappy with.

John Massier, Chair of the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District, says he is disappointed with delays on the project from Interior Health.

Massier, along with Vice Chair Margo Wagner, and Williams Lake Mayor Kerry Cook met with Health Minister Terry Lake to lobby for the completion of the concept planning phase in September.

Interior Health admits insufficient resources had put to the CMH Concept Planning which had been delayed this year 3 times.

Massier says the completion of the project is the number one priority within the District.

Massier, shares what the next phase will look like if, he says, there are hopefully no further delays.

Massier says the District at this point does not expect the concept plan, which Interior Health has reaffirmed, to be finished until the spring of 2015.
