Cariboo to see below seasonal temperatures next week

A drop in temperatures along with potential rain could be in store across the Cariboo region early next week.

For now, above seasonal temperatures will continue, but with unappealing weather rolling in, folks may want to stay indoors later this weekend.

“For today (May 20th) we are looking at just a risk of a thunderstorm for this afternoon, so not really much, maybe some stuff in the mountains to the east,” says Gregg Walters, Meteorologist.

“but we are looking at a more significant trough pushing across on Sunday, so Sunday’s going to be a day with the higher probability of thunderstorms.”

Monday is when we’ll start to see temperatures dip to 17 or 18 degrees, which Walters says is below seasonal, as this time of year is typically 19 or 20.

He also noted that the rain in Prince George may move down south, making it a potential for the Cariboo region to see some on Tuesday.

Temperatures will however go back up by Wednesday or Thursday next week.
