Williams Lake to have ParticipACTION Community Challenge in June

The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex and City of Williams Lake are encouraging residents to be active in June.

This is for the City to compete with others across Canada in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge.

In a release from the City, they said it’s to recognize Canada’s most active community, with a $100,000 prize to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.

Marie McKee, Adult Recreation coordinator said “we hope everyone will have fun with this challenge and maybe learn a new activity or be energized by doing something active every day.”

The recreation complex will also be hosting free daily activities through the month of June.

Anyone is able to participate in the challenge by downloading the free ParticipACTION app prior to June 1st on either the Google Play or Apple App Store.

For more information on the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, you can visit the City of Williams Lake’s website here.
