BC Wildfire Services personnel are actioning a new wildfire in the Cariboo Chilcotin.
“We had a new wildfire start to the South West of Ulkatcho and Anahim Lake yesterday afternoon.” Cariboo Fire Center Information Officer Jessica Mack said, “That fire is estimated to be at 86 hectares in size and we have not seen any growth since last night.”
Mack added that there are 55 personnel on site along with two helicopters and air tankers that are supporting the crews operations.
The current fire danger rating in the Cariboo Fire Zone is moderate to extreme.
