Gibraltar Celebrating Mining Month In A Tasteful Way

May is Mining Month and once again Gibraltar Mines will be hosting a free barbecue in Williams Lake.

Human Resources Manager, Robyn West, said they’ve been holding this event for many years except during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She added that it’s a great opportunity to meet with residents and answer any questions they may have about the mining industry.

“We have over a thousand burgers and hot dogs ready to go. Save On Foods has been great to work with over the years. It’s a fun time. Because we are 40 minutes outside of Williams Lake we really enjoy that opportunity to get into town and see different community members that we might not see all the time.”

West noted that they have a number of Gibraltar Mines employees that have volunteered their time to come out and help flip burgers and serve refreshments and treats.

Gibraltar Mines free is happening today from 4 until 7 at the Save On Foods entrance in Williams Lake.
