Pathways to Preparedness Project launches in the Cariboo

A project geared for wildfire and flood preparation will be making the rounds across the Cariboo.

The Pathways to Preparedness Project looks at improving flood and wildfire risk awareness and promote principles to residents.

“We are going to be going out to public events throughout the electoral areas, so our plan is to get to a minimum of 24 events between now and the end of November.” says Tim Conrad, Prime Contractor for Butterfly Effect Communications.

“We’re hoping that we’re gonna find people in the communities to meet them at their events.”

Tim added that everyone has a responsibility to know the risks and how to prepare homes and property for emergencies.

It’ll allow people to know what the risks are, and access the education needed.

The project will run from May until November, with a list of locations soon to be released.

More information on the Pathways to Preparedness Project can be found on the Cariboo Regional District’s website here.
