Province gives update on current and potential future flooding

Bowinn Ma, Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness, gave an update on the flooding situation.

She said that last week, Cache Creek and other communities received sandbags, sandbag machines, temporary retaining walls, and emergency flood barriers to help combat the current and potential flooding.

Higher temperatures in the Central Interior, along with the rain forecasted over the weekend will put pressure on water sheds, which is making significant flooding a possibility over the weekend.

Ma added that the government will provide continued support to communities affected by flooding.
