Dripping Water Wildfire Remains 209 Hectares In Size

The Dripping Water Wildfire 3 kilometres north of the community of Tle’etinqox  and approximately 9 kilometres southeast of Alexis Creek continues to be held.

Cariboo Fire Center Information Officer Adam Nicholas said as of today (May 4) it hasn’t grown in size remaining at 209 hectares.

“The perimeter of the fire is secured and wet lined and currently the crews are working their way inwards. There was a thermal scan of the fire carried out yesterday (May 3) which allows fire fighters to focus their efforts on hot spots still inside the fire perimeter.”

Nicholas added that crews are also doing standard suppression operations that includes more wet lining, working their way inwards, doing danger tree assessments and mop up patrols

Nicholas noted that the Fire Danger Rating in the Cariboo Fire Centre ranges from low to moderate, mostly moderate due to the increased precipitation over the past few days.
