Despite Rumours, No Official Reports of Wolves in 103, Buffalo Creek Areas
Anecdotal reports of wolves roaming the 103 Mile and Buffalo Creek areas of late cannot be confirmed by the Conservation Authority.
That isn’t to say that there aren’t wolves in those areas says Conservation Officer James Zucchelli, but rather that there have been no conflicts reported to the authority in the last six months:
“It is wolf habitat, like, there are definitely wolves out there but we have not dealt with anything or seen or heard any reports or complaints about wolves in that area.”
Zucchelli says that residents should keep dogs on leash or inside and report any conflicts to the Conservation Authority RAPP Line.
