BC Wildfire Service crews are making progress at the Dripping Water Wildfire 3 kilometres north of the community of Tle’etinqox and approximately 9 kilometres southeast of Alexis Creek.
Talia Makay, Communication Specialist with the Cariboo Fire Centre, said the status has been updated to being held at 209 hectares.
“The crews have made positive progress on the fire with no growth expected. They have hose lays along the North end of the fire to reinforce containment and continue control and mop on the South end of the fire.” Makay said, “The weather’s looking favourable with high relative humidity and low winds, with heavy equipment and aviation resources available as requested to aid in the response.”
Yesterday (Monday) afternoon at 4:30 the Cariboo Regional District lifted the Evacuation Alert that had been issued Saturday evening.
The CRD said in a release that the Evacuation Alert may need to be reissued if deemed necessary and the process will re-commence.
