Quesnel Robbery Suspect Arrested

A suspect is in custody following a botched robbery attempt at a business in Quesnel.

RCMP Sargeant Darren Dodge says they responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a business on Jade Road just before 8 o`clock on Saturday (Nov 28) morning.

Dodge says they were originally called by the owner of the business who had been assaulted after he had interrupted a break and enter.

He says the business owner managed to escape to another room in the building to make the call.

Dodge says police officers arrived on scene within moments, quickly located a suspect attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle and made an arrest without incident.

A 32-year old male from Quesnel is now in custody awaiting his next court appearance on December 15th.

RCMP are recommending charges of Break and Enter, Assault, Robbery and Uttering Threats.

Dodge says the business owner suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
