Dripping Water Wildfire In The Chilcotin Estimated To Be 60 Hectares

BC Wildfire Service continues to battle the Dripping Water wildfire approximately 3 kilometres north of the community of Tle’etinqox and approximately 9 kilometres southeast of Alexis Creek.

It was discovered yesterday (April 27) afternoon and Madison Dahl Cariboo Fire Centre Information Officer, said it’s classified as out of control and is estimated to be 60 hectares.

BC Wildifre personnel are on site with heavy equipment and air support and are utilizing direct and indirect attack methods to achieve containment.

Dahl added there are structures within close proximity but they are not immediately threatened and no structures were lost overnight.

BC Wildfire Service personnel and local crews are also attending the wildfire approximately 36 kilometres west of Williams Lake within the community of Riske Creek.

Its status is “being held” and is 60 hectares.

There was no new fire growth overnight and crews will remain on site today to patrol the edge of the fire Dahl said.
