Coin Toss If Temperature Records Get Broke This Saturday In The Cariboo

According to Environment Canada, temperatures so far this month in the Cariboo are on track to make it one of the top 10 coldest Aprils on record.

They also said it’s always expected to start cold and end warm.

In the next few days that will happen in the region as Meteorologist Armel Castellan said temperatures will get into the high teens to mid-20s range,  and by Saturday, 26 to 27 degrees making it the hottest day of this stretch of warm weather

He added that would be 10 to 12 degrees above seasonal

“Williams Lake only saw on April 29th 22.5 degrees in 1979 so we’re talking a forty-four-year-old record there that likely be challenged.”

As for the rest of the Cariboo..

“100 Mile House and Quesnel I believe were just a little bit too high in the records to challenge those records,” Castellan said, “but we could over-achieve and get closer to 28, and then at that point, we could be closer to a record.”

Castellan noted that May will have above-seasonal temperatures and even possibly June but only by half a degree.
