The hunt for the Golden Buckle returns to Williams Lake.

For the third year, the Williams Lake Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex will host the Golden Buckle Hunt in May.

In a release from the City, they say The hunt was created with the goal to get residents outdoors and explore the hiking and riding trails around Williams Lake, with last year seeing upwards of 250 participants.

Kaitlyn Atkinson, Manager of Recreation and Leisure Services, said that “It’s continued to grow year after year and we are excited to once again offer the weekly Golden Buckle Hunt as a fun option for people to take part in as we move into some warmer weather this spring.”

Participants can use clues given through the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) every Friday to find the golden buckle’s location.

Once the buckle is found, the participant is asked to take a photo with it and email it to the recreation complex ([email protected]) to be entered into a grand prize draw, with the photo’s also being shared on social media.

The hunt will last throughout the month of May, with the first clue being given on April 28th.
