District Of 100 Mile House To Host Volunteer Fair

April is national volunteer month.

To recognize that, the District of 100 Mile House will be hosting a Volunteer Fair at the Community Hall, noon to 4, on Sunday, April 23rd.

Organizations looking to increase their membership will have a chance to showcase what they do and network with other volunteer groups.

Mayor Maureen Pinkney said this is a great opportunity, especially for residents new to the area, to learn about all the rewarding volunteer opportunities that are available.

“This is a way for the District to feature all of our not-for-profit groups in town. There is no charge for them to register for a table, just call the District office and show up.”

Pinkney noted that volunteers are the most critical part of any community.

“We have an amazing group of volunteers and we just saw that during the spectacular March into Spring Event, how many volunteers it took to put that on, it was just wonderful.”

The District saw 3500 people come out to be a part of that free celebration.
