Preliminary Inquiry Set In Williams Lake Assault With Weapon Case

A date has been set for a preliminary inquiry for a Williams Lake man who is charged in connection with an incident where a man was allegedly assaulted with a weapon in his home.
27-year old Harvey Shields will be back in court on April 11th.
Shields is facing one count each of Assault with a Weapon and Break and Enter.
Williams Lake RCMP say there called to a residence in the 700 block of Midnight Drive in the early morning hours of September 30th.
Police say it appears the homeowner let two males in and that he was then assaulted.
RCMP say they believe the attack could be related to the drug trade and that the victim owed some money.
The victim was not seriously hurt.
